Water
The abundance and quality of water in the Aurina Valley is enormous.
This element is very valuable and it is important to preserve and protect it in ist purest form.
From all our taps and showers there only flows the mineral-rich spring water of the Aurina Valley.
It comes directly from the springs of the waterfall peak, „Bad Winkel“ and „Pojen“.
Energy

Hydropower
The Apparthotel Central works to 100% with renewable energy, the hydropower.
Even in pre-industrial times, hydropower was used to drive mills, sawmills and hammer mills.
And today it is still used to generate sustainable energy.
We were awarded with the certificate from the “European Energy Certificate System”.
Heating
We are connected to the municipal district heating network, which is heated 100% with wood chips from the surrounding forests.
In this way we promote small cycles and heat 100% renewable.
TauFrisch
-Fresh from the field-
Also in the kitchen of our restaurant Rosmarin it’s very importanat to process regional, sustainable and fresh food whenever possible.
Therefore we are very happy tob e part oft he project „TauFrisch-fresh from the field“.
The vegetable cultivation project for freshness, taste intensity and variety in the Tauferer kitchen.

The Holiday Pass
Enjoy your holiday in an environmentally friendly and relaxed way.
Another important aspect of sustainability is the Holiday Pass, which is available to all our gests for the entire stay.
Using the Holiday Pass you can reach the entire nature and hiking paradise of South Tyrol without a car and instead use all public transport in South Tyrol for free.

Do you want environmentally friendly travel by train or bus to South Tyrol?
The Südtirol Transfer connection shuttle takes you stress-free from your railway or bus station
to our hotel at Sand in Taufers.
Due to the expansion of public transport systems in South Tyrol, travelling by public transport such as trains or long-distance buses is now a real alternative to travelling in your own car.
the vehicles used by Südtirol Transfer comply with the latest emissions standards and when it comes to safety are consistently state of the art. On group transfers you may find yourself sharing the vehicle with multiple passengers – in return you benefit from a lower price and also protect the environment as journeys are combined (ride-pooling).
